SEATTLE, Wash- In a battle of unbeaten teams, it was Seattle Pacific defeating Sonoma State, 53-36, on Friday night in the CCAA/GNAC Challenge in Seattle. The Seawolves had trouble shooting all night, connecting on just 21% of their shots. They fall to 4-1 overall. The Falcons go to 4-0.
SSU had just one field goal in the first 13 minutes of play, on their way to a season-low eight first half points. Seattle Pacific quickly built a 19-4 lead and was never really challenged.
The starting five for SSU, which have been so successful so far this season, had all kinds of trouble, scoring just 14 points on 4-of-36 shooting.
Christy Shreve came off the bench to lead SSU in scoring with eight points.
Danae Wellander had 11 rebounds, but was just 1-of-11 from the field.
Daesha Henderson had a game-high 11 points for Seattle Pacific.
The Seawolves will try to bounce back on Saturday against Western Washington.
