Seawolves Take Bite Out Of Gators, Win 74-61

Chelsey Armacost's career-high 19 points led the way for SSU on Thursday
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif-  Chelsey Armacost poured in a career-high 19 points to help lead Sonoma State to a 74-61 victory over San Francisco State in CCAA women's hoops action Thursday night in San Francisco.   It was the fifth win in the last six games for the Seawolves as they improve to 11-10, 10-7 CCAA.  The Gators drop to 6-16, 6-11 CCAA.

The first half was close with neither team taking much of a lead before the Seawolves used 7-2 run to end the half up five at 34-29.  SF State would rally back from a seven-point early second half deficit to tie the game at 40 with 13:26 to go. 

The Seawolves would close out the game over the final ten minutes of the half thanks to the scoring of Armacost and Danae Wellander, who pitched in with 16 points.  Nichola Hester was also in double figures with 11 points.  Lauren Redfield led the Seawolves with ten rebounds and three steals.

Brio Rode had 14 points to lead SF State while Chloe Grimm grabbed a Gator-high ten rebounds.

The Seawolves look to keep the momentum going on Saturday night when they play at Cal State Monterey Bay.
