ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team opened the Seawolf Splash Tournament with an impressive 14-5 win over Cal Lutheran this morning at Ed Rudlofff Pool.

Samantha Mullins tied a single-game record with five goals.
Jessica Scott had three goals and
Courtney Rider had two.
Sam Burchard, Roxanna McEwen and
Christina Maher each contributed one goal.
Sonoma State took a 3-1 lead in the opening period and never looked back. The Seawolves broke the game open with five more goals in the second period to take an 8-3 halftime lead. Sonoma State scored five more time in the final two periods and held the Regals to only one goal each period.
This was the second time Sonoma State has beaten the Regals in as many weeks. Last week, the two met at the Roadrunner Invite in Bakersfield, Calif. The Seawolves won a close 8-7 game.
Sonoma State is back inaction this afternoon when they face the University of Pacific Tigers at 3:50 pm at Ed Rudloff Pool.
