ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Sonoma State closed out a four-game sweep of Cal State Stanislaus on a cold, windy afternoon at Seawolf Diamond with 5-4 and 7-2 victories. The Seawolves improve to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in the CCAA while the Warriors drop to 3-6, 0-4 CCAA.
The Seawolves are now 8-0 at Seawolf Diamond this season.
Sonoma State picked up runs in each of the first three innings to take a 4-1 lead in game one. They tacked on another in the fifth before the Warriors scored three times to pull within one. With the game on the line, the Seawolves turned to Paige Dumont who tossed 2.2 scoreless innings for his second save of the year.
Robert Walden led the Seawolves with two hits. Four different Warriors collected multiple hits as CSUS outhit SSU 10-8 for the game.
In game two, Sonoma State used a four-run second inning to blow things open. The Warriors would never threaten as SSU's Matt Bush cruised to his second victory of the season. B.J. Collom, Tyler Wightman, and Eli Rimes each went 2-for-3 in the game.
SSU was aided in part by four Warrior errors.
The Seawolves host UC San Diego for a four-game series in Rohnert Park starting next Friday.
