POMONA, Calif. - Sam Mullins's hat trick helped lead the Sonoma State women's water polo team to a 7-4 victory over Occidental Saturday morning at the Lancer Invite hosted by Cal Baptist and Pomona-Pitzer.
Sam Mullins led a trio of Seawolves who did all the scoring for SSU.
Jenna Bole and
Jessica Scott each tallied two goals.
Sonoma State (12-8) opened up a 3-1 lead in the first period but didn't post a goal in the second period and only led 3-2 at the break. But SSU netted three goals in the third to open up a 6-3 lead. In the fourth period the Seawolves added an insurance goal and won the game 7-4.
Sonoma State is back in action this afternoon as it faces Occidental in the Lancer Invite finale.
