SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team was defeated by Santa Clara for the second time this season, 14-4, Saturday afternoon in Santa Clara.

Brooke Smith each scored in the game. Sonoma State falls to 13-9 overall and 3-6 in the WWPA. Scott leads the Seawolves with 37 goals.
The Seawolves trailed only 3-1 after the first periord, but the Broncos began to pour it on after that. They tallied another three goals in the second to lead 6-2 at the break. After halftime, Santa Clara added another three goals and then blew the Seawolves away in the fourth period with five goals.
Sonoma State is back in action Saturday, March 21, when they travel to play WWPA rival Cal State Monterey Bay at 10:00 am then face Maryland in a non-conference meeting at 1:00 pm. Both game will be played in Seaside, Calif.
