Baseball Completes Sweep With 11th Straight Win

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif-  Sonoma State completed a CCAA series sweep over San Francisco State on Sunday afternoon with a 5-3 win at Maloney Field in San Francisco.  The win extends SSU's winning streak to 11 games in a row as they improve to 24-5, 14-2 CCAA.  The Gators drop to 5-24, 4-16 CCAA.

SSU got on the board in the first inning on a two-out, two-run single by Chase McGuire.  They pushed the lead to 4-0 in the fourth on RBI's by Tyler Wightman and Eli Rimes before SF State cut the lead in half with a two-run bottom of the fourth.

SSU added an insurance run in the sixth inning when Rimes hit his team-high seventh home run of the year.  SF State scored once in the eighth, but Paige Dumont closed the door once again, pitching a scoreless 1.2 innings to earn his seventh save of the season.

Taylor Lewis earned the win for SSU after tossing five innings, giving up four hits and two runs.  David Adler collected three of SSU's nine hits on the day.

Sonoma State returns to action on Wednesday when they host Hawaii Pacific in the first game of a five-game series.
