DAVIS, Calif. - Jessica Scott's four goals helped Sonoma State edge Cal State San Bernardino, 9-8, Saturday afternoon at the UC Davis Aggie Shootout.
Sonoma State (14-12 overall, 4-8 WWPA) and CSUSB were tied at then end of the first period 1-1 before SSU scored three goals and the defense held the Coyotes scoreless to take a 4-1 halftime lead. Sonoma State's lead was cut into in the third period when CSUSB outscored SSU 4-2 to cut the advantage to 6-5. The Seawolves then matched the Coyotes goal-for-goal in the fourth to hold on for the 9-8 win.
Jessica Scott tied a career-high witth four goals, she now has a team-high 45 goals this seaon. Roxanna McEwen and
Sam Mullins each scored twice and
Brooke Smith scored once.
Sonoma State is back inaction tomorrow morning when they play No. 20 Cal State Northridge at 10:15 am in day two of the UC Davis Aggie Shootout.
