ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Ten Sonoma State pitchers combined to shutout San Francisco State 3-0 in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon in Rohnert Park. The win was the 22nd in a row for the ninth-ranked Seawolves as they improve to 35-5 on the season. The Gators drop to 6-32 with the loss.
Sonoma State hasn't lost since March 10th and they improved to 28-1 at Seawolf Diamond this year. Winners of 30 of their last 32 games, the Seawolves also complete a seven-game series sweep of the Gators.
The Seawolves got their first run in the second inning when Konrad Thieme blasted his third home run of the season. The lead would stay 1-0 until B.J. Collom scooted home on a wild pitch in the sixth after earning a walk to start the inning. SSU's final run came on an RBI double off the center field wall by Brandon Zenimura.
Matt Garnett started for the Seawolves and went two innings, striking out two. Glen Wood earned the win with a stellar 1 2/3 inning-performance. Paige Dumont pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 12th save of the season, moving him to within two of Tony Graf's school record.
The Seawolves will host Cal State San Bernardino in a CCAA series, starting this Friday at 2:00 pm.
