LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Four fourth period goals weren't enough for the Sonoma State women's water polo team as they fell 10-8 to Cal State San Bernardino in the third game of the Loyola Marymount Invitational.
After holding a 2-1 lead after the first period, Sonoma State (17-16 overall, 7-10 WWPA) gave up three goals to in the second period without netting one to fall behind 4-2. The Coyotes then scored four goals in the third period while limiting the Seawolves to two.
Trailing 8-4, Sonoma State rallied with four goals in the fourth period, but the Coyotes scored two goals to escape the Seawolf rally.
Tasha Thiele led the Seawolves with three goals and Samantha Mullins followed with two. Samantha Burchard, Jessica Scott and Alexandrina Brookbank each scored one.
Sonoma State is back in action at 11:45 am when they play Cal State Bakersfield in its final game of the LMU Invite.
