Men's Golf Finishes 5th At CCAA Tournament

PASO ROBLES, Calif-  Jarin Todd fired a final round 69 to lead a strong Sonoma State surge on Tuesday at the CCAA Golf Championships in Paso Robles.  Todd finished in sixth place at 72-73-69--214 (-2) for the tournament.  The Seawolves bounced back from rounds of 292 and 296 on Monday with a 284 on Tuesday to pull back in contention.

Two strokes back of Todd on Tuesday was junior Kyle Hopkins, who added a 71 to his card for a final tournament score of 217.  The Seawolves also got solid contributions from a couple of first year players, Daniel MacDonough and Spencer Shishido.  After they each shot a four-over 149 yesterday, they both carded an even par-72 to finish at 221.  Chris Galvin salvaged a rough start on the front nine with a 36 on the back to finish at 77.

Cal State Stanislaus fired a final round 281 on Tuesday to take the team championship.  They were led by individual champion Erick Justesen, who finished five strokes ahead of the field at 205.

The Seawolves will compete in the NCAA West Regionals in Denver, two weeks from now.
