ROHENRT PARK, Calif. - The Sonoma State softball team bounced back from a 4-0 loss in game one to win 4-1 in the nightcap over Chico State Friday afternoon.
Sonoma State (29-30 overall, 15-19 CCAA) couldn't get the timely hit to fall in the opener and struggled to a 4-0 loss. The nightcap saw the Seawolves take care of business early.
Lindsay Emmel (13-13) took the loss in game one allowing two earned runs on 10 hits and struck out three.
Game two saw Simone Brandalise (10-13) dominated the Chico State batters. She allowed only four hits and one run in seven inning of work.
Alex Winters and Megan Ochylski were the story for the Seawolves on offense. Winters continued her torrid offensive pace with four hits on the day, two runs scored and one stolen base. Not to be outdone, Ochylski also added four hits including a triple and an RBI.
Sonoma State jumped to an early 1-0 lead in game two, but the Wildcats answered in the top of the second to tie the score. Sonoma State took the lead for good in the fourth inning when Alex Bright's suicide squeeze brought in Ashley Eisemann.
The two teams are back in action tomorrow at 12:00 pm at Seawolf Diamond.
