ROHERNT PARK, Calif. The Sonoma State women's water polo team trailed 5-0 in the second round of the WWPA Championships before scoring nine unanswered goals to defeat Chapman 9-5 Saturday morning.
Sonoma State (18-20) held the Panthers scoreless for the final 22 minutes as it scoerd all nine of its goals. Samantha Mullins scored four goals to lead the Seawolves and Tasha Thiele added three of her own.
Sonoma State advances to the ninth-place game where they will face Cal State Monterey Bay at 10:00 pm.
