LA JOLLA, Calif-  The Sonoma State women's tennis team saw their season come to an end on Saturday as they lost to No. 23 UC San Diego 5-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  The Seawolves finish the year at 8-10.

Sonoma State got their only point of the afternoon in doubles play as Alexis Webb and Raquel Gottfried teamed up for a 9-7 win over Fonte/Knudsen of UCSD.  Amy Belsher was leading her No. 4 singles match, but it was not completed as the Tritons clinched the victory.

After an 0-7 start to the season, the Seawolves won seven of their next nine to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the 11th consecutive year.

1. Malinow (UCSD) def. Stephanie Luk (SSU) 6-4, 6-2

2. Dan (UCSD) def. Raquel Gottfried (SSU) 6-2, 6-2

3. Fonte (UCSD) led Laura Robertson (SSU) 7-5, 5-0

4. Amy Belsher (SSU) led Desai (UCSD) 4-6, 4-2

5. Legakis (UCSD) def. Alexis Webb (SSU) 7-5, 6-3

6. Knudsen (UCSD) led Casey O'Connor (SSU) 6-2, 5-5

2. Webb/Gottfried (SSU) def. Fonte/Knudsen (UCSD) 9-7
