LA JOLLA, Calif- The Sonoma State women's tennis team saw their season come to an end on Saturday as they lost to No. 23 UC San Diego 5-1 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Seawolves finish the year at 8-10.
Sonoma State got their only point of the afternoon in doubles play as
Alexis Webb and
Raquel Gottfried teamed up for a 9-7 win over Fonte/Knudsen of UCSD.
Amy Belsher was leading her No. 4 singles match, but it was not completed as the Tritons clinched the victory.
After an 0-7 start to the season, the Seawolves won seven of their next nine to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the 11th consecutive year.
