Seawolves Beat Pioneers In WWPA Action

Jessica Scott struck for five goals against CSU East Bay on Friday
HAYWARD, Calif-  Sonoma State defeated Cal State East Bay 12-8 in WWPA action on Friday afternoon in Hayward.  Jessica Scott paced the Seawolves with five goals.  The win lifts the Seawolves to 16-13, 6-8 WWPA.

The game was close after the first quarter as SSU held a narrow 3-2 lead.  That's when the Seawolves put in a surge that the Pioneers couldn't recover from.  The Seawolves outscored CSUEB 7-1 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters to give them enough cushion to overcome a five-goal 4th quarter by the Pioneers.

Samantha Burchard and Tasha Thiele each had two goals and Burchard also dished out three assists.  Kaitlyn Brownrigg and Meghan Saaverda shared goalkeeping duties, combining for nine saves.

The Seawolves will play at Cal Lutheran on April 12th before taking the pool for the Lion Invite, hosted by Loyola Marymount this weekend.
