Seawolves Eliminated By Cal State L.A.

LOS ANGELES, Calif-  Sonoma State's magical season came to an end on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles as the Seawolves fell 4-1 to Cal State L.A..  Sonoma State was unable to capitalize on opportunities as they finish out the season at 50-12.  The Golden Eagles will play on Sunday against either Mesa State or Chico State.

Cal State L.A. jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on RBIs by Brian Hernandez and Jack Roche.  SSU starter Brent Lysander had a tough time finding the strike zone in the first inning as he hit two batters, then walked a couple.  In fact, it was a walk to Henry Contreras that pushed in a run for the third run of the inning.

Lysander settled down after the first, but unfortunately, the damage had been done.  CSULA starter Kyle Owsley was solid, working his way out of jams and leaving countless Seawolf batters stranded.  SSU actually outhit the Golden Eagles 8-5, but they left 10 runners on base in the game.

Nick Nosti was 3-for-5 and Eli Rimes was 2-for-3 to lead the Seawolves.

Lysander was charged with the loss as he falls to 10-2.
