SEATTLE, Wash- Seattle Pacific's Shannon Oakes scored in the 65th minute as the tenth-ranked Falcons defeated Sonoma State 1-0 in west region women's soccer action in Seattle on Thursday night. The loss drops the Seawolves to 1-2-0 on the season while the Falcons improve to 3-0-0.
The Seawolves, battling a nationally-ranked opponent from Seattle for the second game in a row, held their own with the Falcons. SSU was out shot just 11-7 and held the Falcons out of the net for the first half. Freshman

SPU broke through in the 65th minute when Oakes nailed in a 10-yarder to the right post after a long throw in and flick. Sarah Martinez and Amanda Johnson were credited with assists on the goal.
The Seawolves continue their Pacific Northwest road trip on Saturday at Western Washington.
