Sather, Aizenstadt Lead Seawolves Over HPU

HONOLULU, Hawaii-  The Sonoma State volleyball team closed out play at the Hawaii Invitational with an impressive 3-1 win over Hawaii Pacific on Saturday afternoon in Honolulu.  The Seawolves dropped the first game before storming back to take three straight and improve to 3-5 on the season.  The Sea Warriors drop to 2-5.

The Seawolves looked like they were in trouble after a 30-16 blowout loss in game one.  They were quick to right the ship, however, with a 30-23 win in game two before blowing out the Sea Warriors 30-15 in game three.  SSU then edged HPU 30-28 to take the fourth game, and the match.

Kristy Sather led SSU with a 16-kill, 10-dig double-double.  Kaylee Aizenstadt was particularly impressive, finishing with 12 kills and no errors for a .545 hitting percentage.

Lindsay Brown had 43 assists and Taylor Manton went for 32 digs.

Kelly Balanay led the Sea Warriors with 15 kills.

The Seawolves open up CCAA play next weekend at Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino.

Match statistics will be posted as soon as possible.
