ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Sonoma State got a balanced attack to sweep Notre Dame de Namur in three straight on Saturday night in a non-conference volleyball match in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves won by scores of 30-27, 30-20, 30-15 as they improve to 5-7 on the year. The Argonauts fall to 3-8.
It was the second 3-0 win of the year for SSU over NDNU. The two met in the finale of the Seawolf Spike in August.
On Saturday,
Kristy Sather led an impressive SSU attack with 12 kills.
Sarah Illingworth (ten kills),
Marianne Fox (nine kills),
Kaylee Aizenstadt (nine kills), and
Rikki Buckshnis (seven kills) were right behind her as sophomore
Lindsay Brown did a nice job of balancing the action. The Napa native ended her night with 41 assists.
Taylor Manton continued her impressive play on defense with a game-high 33 digs. She is far and away the leader in the conference with an average of 6.89 digs per game.
Emily Evans and Ashley Fox each had nine kills to lead the Argonauts. Lauren Quach had 21 digs and Pamela Alano was tops with 21 assists.
The Seawolves head back into conference play on Wednesday when they head to Seaside to take on Cal State Monterey Bay.
