Webster Leads Seawolves To Shutout Of SF State

Tracy Webster's breakaway goals were the difference on Friday
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif-  Sophomore Tracy Webster scored both goals in a 2-0 Sonoma State win over San Francisco State on Friday in CCAA women's soccer action.  The win becomes the first of the season for the Seawolves (1-7-0, 1-3-0 CCAA) due to a self-reported non-certification issue that resulted in the forfeiture of four victories.  The Gators go to 2-5-1, 1-3-1 CCAA with the loss.

It was another fine defensive performance from the Seawolves.  The team has recorded shutouts in their last four games, all conference tilts.

Both of Webster's goals came in the second half after the teams stayed deadlocked at zero for the first 70 minutes of action.  Her first strike was on a breakaway in the 71st minute.  She scored again on a breakaway to seal the victory in the 82nd minute.

With the goals, Webster has now scored three times in the past two games.

Courtney Grixti earned her fifth shutout of the year in goal. The freshman keeper had to make one save on the day.

The Seawolves out shot the Gators 9-4 in the second half and had a 12-9 shot advantage for the game.

Sonoma State will travel to Seaside to take on Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday.
