Seawolves Record Fifth Straight Shutout In Tie

SEASIDE, Calif-  Sonoma State's defense turned in their fifth consecutive shutout, but this time the offense came up as empty as well in a 0-0 women's soccer tie on Saturday at Cal State Monterey Bay.  The Seawolves held a 30-9 shot advantage, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Sonoma State has not allowed a goal in conference play, a span going back to the beginning of September.  In nine game this year, the Seawolves have allowed just seven goals.  Freshman goalkeeper Courtney Grixti turned in her sixth shutout of the year with a season-high seven save performance.

Brittany Peterson led the offensive charge with seven shots.  Teammate Tracy Webster added six, but Otter goalkeeper Catrina Miramontes scored eight goals to keep the Seawolves at bay.

Sonoma State will play at Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona next weekend.
