TURLOCK, Calif- Cal State Stanislaus head coach Chris Difani got the best of her former team on Friday night as she led her Warriors to a 3-1 win over Sonoma State in CCAA volleyball action. The loss is the third in a row for the Seawolves, now 5-10, 1-5 CCAA. The Warriors improve to 5-11, 1-5 CCAA.
A member of SSU's Athletics Hall of Fame, Difani is in his third year at Cal State Stanislaus. She remains SSU's all-time leader in several offensive categories.
Sonoma State would out hit Cal State Stanislaus in the match, .110 to .065, but the Warriors were able to get points when they needed them. Stanislaus edged out 30-27 and 30-23 victories in games one and two and then held on for a 31-29 game four win. SSU's lone victory, game three, was a 30-19 win.
Marianne Fox led the Seawolves with 11 kills on the night.
Taylor Manton added 37 digs. She is currently third in the nation in digs per game.
Debbi Vander Schaaf led the Warriors with a game-high 14 kills.
The Seawolves will face Chico State tomorrow night.
