Seawolves Fall To No. 19 Chico State In Five

CHICO, Calif-  The Sonoma State volleyball team had upset on their mind, but it wasn't to be as they fell in five games to the 19th-ranked Chico State Wildcats, 3-2 on Saturday night.  The loss drops the Seawolves to 5-11, 1-6 CCAA.  The Wildcats improve to 13-4, 6-1 CCAA.

Sonoma State led in each match, but came up just short in their upset bid.  SSU took games one (30-17) and three (30-27).  Chico was victorious in games two (31-29), four (30-24), and five (16-14). 

Marianne Fox and Kristy Sather each had 17 kills to lead the Seawolves.  Kaylee Aizenstadt pitched in with 16 and also had a team-high six blocks.  Lindsay Brown posted 55 assists and Taylor Manton pitched in with 31 digs. 

SSU out hit Chico State .208 to .148 for the match.

The Wildcats got 18 kills from Lindsay Macias and 16 more from Gillian Heydorff.

Sonoma State returns home next week to face Cal State L.A. and UC San Diego
