SEASIDE, Calif-
Genny Anderson poured in 20 points to lead Sonoma State to a 71-63 win over Cal State Monterey Bay in CCAA women's basketball action on Friday night at the Kelp Bed in Seaside. The win helps the Seawolves to a 10-2, 4-1 CCAA record. The Otters drop to 2-10, 1-4 CCAA.
The Seawolves outscored the Otters 15-6 over the final six minutes of the first half to go into the break up nine, 39-30. The lead would stay between six and ten points for most of the second half as the Otters hung tough on their home court.
Anderson's 20 points came from 8-of-11 shooting from the field. She also had five rebounds and the Seawolves' only blocked shot.
Danae Wellander (16),
Lauren Redfield (11), and
Chelsey Armacost (11) were also in double figures for Sonoma State. With the win, the team ties their record for the best mark after twelve games in team history.
Dana Andrews and Britnea Moore each had 17 points for the Otters.
Sonoma State will head up the coast to take on San Francisco State tomorrow night.
