Men's Hoops Falls To No. 18 CSU San Bernardino

Steve Cornett's ten points were not enough for Sonoma State on Friday
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif-  Though they trailed by just two at the half, Sonoma State couldn't keep up with 18th-ranked Cal State San Bernardino in the second half on Friday night in a 65-47 loss at Coussoulis Arena.  The loss drops the Seawolves to 8-4, 4-5 CCAA.  The Coyotes improve to 14-3, 7-2 CCAA.

Down 20-9 in the first half, Sonoma State outscored the Coyotes 16-7 over the final eight minutes to go into the break down just to at 27-25.

The Coyotes quickly pushed the lead to five and it would stay between five and ten for almost the entire second half.  CSUSB went on a 10-0 run over the last 3:30 to give them the comfortable, 18-point win.

Steve Cornett was the only Seawolf in double digits, finishing with ten points on 3-of-6 shooting.  The Seawolves, the best shooting team in the CCAA, shot just 37% from the field, well below their season mark of over 47%.

Michael Earl had a huge night for the Coyotes, finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds.  He was 8-of-10 from the field.

The Seawolves will face another tough opponent tomorrow night in Cal Poly Pomona.
