PHOENIX, Ariz- A sweep in doubles led the way to a 6-3 Sonoma State victory over No. 36 Hawaii-Hilo in west region men's tennis action on Monday in Phoenix. With the win, the Seawolves (4-2) improve to 4-0 against NCAA Division II opponents this season.
SSU won handily at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to start the day off right. The No. 2 doubles team of
Jeremy Heckley and
Logan Bailey needed some late magic to secure the crucial third point and give SSU what turned out to be an insurmountable lead entering singles play.
Andy Muesse defeated his opponent at No. 1 in come-from-behind fashion to lead a solid performance in singles.
Connor Olson and
Quan Vu also managed victories at No. 3 and No. 6 repectively with Vu's victory clinching the match for the Seawolves.
