ROHNERT PARK, Calif-
Samantha Burchard scored six goals to lead Sonoma State past the University of the Pacific 11-10 in the finale of the 2008 Seawolf Splash on Sunday afternoon in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves see their record evened out at 4-4 after a perfect 3-0 showing against collegiate teams at the tournament.
The win avenged an 8-7 loss to the Tigers on February 9th in Stockton.
Burchard's six goals are a season-high for the Seawolves and every one of them was important in the one-point win. Burchard had three of her goals in the fourth quarter including one with under 2:00 to go that proved to be the match-winner.
The Seawolves return to action next weekend at The Slug Fest in Santa Cruz.
