RICHLAND, Wash- Sonoma State opened up the Clarion Hotel/Central Washington Softball Invitational on Thursday with a 3-1 win over Montana State-Billings.
Kayla Ledford picked up the win in her first pitching action of the year as the Seawolves improve to 6-5 on the year. The Seawolves will meet Western Oregon at 1:45 on Thursday.
The Seawolves did all their damage in the first two innings, scoring once in the first and twice in the second.
Britni Geary was a perfect 2-for-2 and
Kayla Ledford picked up the Seawolves' only RBI when she singled home
Shyrle Hawes in the first inning.
Ledford was solid in the circle, striking out three batters in five shutout innings.
Simone Brandalise pitched the final two innings for the save.
