Water Polo Edges Cal State East Bay, 9-8

Sara Watt had two goals and three assists on Thursday against CSU East Bay
HAYWARD, Calif-  The Sonoma State water polo team edged Cal State East Bay on Thursday, 9-8 at the Pioneers' home pool in Hayward.  The win lifts the Seawolves to 11-8 on the season.

Sara Watt led the Seawolves with two goals and three assists in the game.  Samantha Burchard also scored twice as she netted her 31st and 32nd goals of the season.  Lysa Lombard made six saves to earn the win in goal.

SSU used a big second quarter to turn a 2-1 deficit after one into a 5-3 halftime lead.  CSU East Bay would cut the lead to one at the end, but SSU was able to hold on for the winl.

The Seawolves will host Santa Clara on Saturday at SSU.
