ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Santa Clara got out to an early three-goal lead, then cruised to a 9-4 win over Sonoma State in WWPA action on Saturday at Ed Rudloff Pool in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves fall to 11-9 on the season while the 19th-ranked Broncos improve to 12-6.
The Broncos got two goals from Amy Lamb to pick up their third win over the Seawolves this season. SSU was led by two goals from
Laurel Stricklin and one by
Jessica Scott and
Jenna Bole.
Trailing 3-1, SSU scored two of the next three goals to pull within two just before the half at 4-2. However, SCU used a 3-0 run spanning the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third quarters to go up 7-2.
Next up for the Seawolves is a home match against Brown University on March 26th.
