CHICO, Calif- Sonoma State could manage just two hits against Cal State Monterey Bay's Angela Cabral as the Otters pounded the Seawolves 8-0 in five innings on Saturday in Chico. The loss leaves the Seawolves with a split after two non-conference games in Chico. They are now 9-14 overall. The Otters improve to 16-12.
CSUMB scored two runs in the first and then six in the fourth, six of the eight coming off SSU starter
Kayla Ledford. She was relieved by
Brittany Williams and
Calli Herzog.
Williams and
Eva Sahatdjian were the only Seawolves to reach base via a hit as Cabral was lights out against SSU hitters. The Otter hurler did walk four batters, though SSU left everyone on base.
The Seawolves will resume CCAA play next weekend when they host Cal State Stanislaus in their first home games in more than a month.
