LAIE, Hawaii- Sonoma State dropped the opening match on their Hawaiian trip, 7-2 to the University of Hawaii-Hilo on Saturday afternoon. It is the first Division II loss of the season for the Seawolves as they fall to 7-7 overall.
Connor Olson and
Jeff Stollberg continued their winning ways in doubles, taking an 8-3 win at No. 2. The duo improve to 11-2 this season as a doubles team. Unfortunately that would be the only win in doubles for the Seawolves.
Andy Muesse came up with a big win for Sonoma State at No. 1 singles, defeating Laurent Colombo, 6-4, 6-1. Again, that would be the lone match win in singles as the Vulcans took the other five matches.
The Seawolves continue play in the Aloha State on Monday against 25th-ranked BYU-Hawaii.
