LOS ANGELES, Calif- Cal State Bakersfield scored two goals in each quarter to defeat Sonoma State 8-3 on Friday at the LMU Water Polo Invitational in Los Angeles. The Seawolves drop to 6-7 on the year with the defeat.
SSU trailed just 4-2 at the half thanks to second quarter goals by
Laurel Stricklin and
Jessica Scott. Stricklin netted another goal for SSU in the third quarter, but that would be all the scoring the Seawolves could muster against CSUB goalie Veronica Campbell.
Lysa Lombard was credited with eight saves in net for Sonoma State.
The Seawolves play Chapman University later on Friday.
