ROHNERT PARK -- Caylie Seitz slammed 13 kills to the hardwood with no errors in 22 attacks for a .591 hitting percentage and
Kelsey Hull added nine kills as the Sonoma State volleyball team steamrolled past visiting Cal State Dominguez Hills in three sets (25-14, 25-11, 25-14) on Friday night at The Wolves' Den. The Seawolves remain atop the CCAA standings with a 10-2 record (12-4 overall) while the Toros drop to 2-14 (1-11 CCAA).
The match featured just four ties and one lead change, most of which occured in the third set, but it was Sonoma State that dominated all facets of the match. As a team, the Seawolves hit .386, amassing for 38 kills with six errors in 83 swings. SSU also played tough defense, recording a total of 10 blocks, including two solo stops by
Ashley Robinson.
Calan Seitz had a match-high four service aces to go along with 20 assists.
Regan Richert went for seven kills in 15 attempts with one error.
For Cal State Dominguez Hills, Bridget Heins had nine kills to lead the visitors. The Toros hit just .024, but was held to .000 through the first two sets.
Sonoma State returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Cal State L.A. at 7:00 pm in The Wolves' Den. After Saturday's match, the Seawolves will head out on the road to play seven of their final nine matches of the regular season away from Rohnert Park.
