ROHNERT PARK, Calif.  --  Cal Poly Pomona put a damper on Senior Day festivities on Saturday afternoon as Lauren Killigrew accounted for the game's lone goal in the 72nd minute on a superbly taken free kick to defeat 15th-ranked Sonoma State, 1-0.  The loss leaves the Seawolves' playoff hopes uncertain as they fall for the fourth time in their last seven games following a 10-0-0 start to the season.  The Broncos improve to 12-4-0, 7-3-0 CCAA with the win.

The Seawolves (13-4-0, 6-4-0 CCAA) entered play on Saturday in a tie for fourth place with 18 points.  They leave it in 5th place, trailing 4th place Cal State San Bernardino by three points and holding a narrow edge over UC San Diego (17) and Cal State Stanislaus (16).  With one game to go in the regular season, the Seawolves need a win (and losses by CSUSB and/or CPP) to keep alive their hopes of hosting a CCAA playoff game next Sunday.  The third and fourth place teams will host the fifth and sixth place teams next Sunday in the first round of the CCAA Championship Tournament.

While the Seawolves managed to outshoot the Broncos 10-8, they had trouble putting much pressure on CPP goalkeeper Ricki Ives, who was forced to make just one save.  Her counterpart, Allison Hadidian made four in the game.

The Broncos' goal came on a free kick from around 25 yards out as Killigrew struck a laser into the upper right corner of the net.  It was her second goal of the season.

Prior to the game, the Seawolves honored three seniors playing in their final regular season home game at Seawolf Field - Lauren Curtin, Megan Foy, and Kate McFarland.

The Seawolves will conclude the regular season on Thursday afternoon at San Francisco State (7-8-2, 2-7-1 CCAA)
