(Written by Craig Lifto, SSU Sports Information)ROHNERT PARK -- Hannah Sourek scored a season-high 18 points to go with five rebounds, but that wasn't enough as the Sonoma State women's basketball team lost to Humboldt State, 61-49, Saturday night at The Wolves' Den.  The Seawolves fell to 0-2 in the CCAA and 1-4 overall.  The Lumberjacks improved to 2-0 in the CCAA and 6-1 overall.
The first half was closely contested throughout. The largest lead for either team was the 31-26 advantage the Lumberjacks took into the locker room at halftime. The Seawolves held the lead three times in the first half, the largest being 21-17 when 
Molly Kommer scored on a layup with 7:40 remaining. The Seawolves fought hard but couldn't get any closer than four points (34-30) at 16:55 in the second half. It was after that four-point disadvantage for Sonoma State where the Lumberjacks started to build a big lead. Their biggest was 53-37 with 8:36 remaining.
The Seawolves connected on 19 of 57 field goals (33.3 percent), while the Lumberjacks went 24 for 67 from the field (35.8 percent) on the night. A big factor to the Seawolves' loss was 20 turnovers, which the Lumberjacks converted into 18 points. The Seawolves were only able to turn 12 Lumberjack turnovers into six points. Humboldt State outscored Sonoma State 20-9 on second chance points.
The Seawolves' Leanna Bade had eight points to go with four rebounds and two steals. 
JoNae Gonzalez led the Seawolves in rebounds with seven and assists with five.
Humboldt State was led in points by A'Jaee Foster and Megan Shields -- both of them had 15 points on the night. Foster also collected an impressive 20 rebounds.
Sonoma State's next game will be televised on Comcast Hometown Network when it travels to San Francisco State on Friday.  Tipoff is set for 6:00 pm.  Check with your cable TV provider for the correct channel.
