ROHNERT PARK -- Madison Burroughs was one of four Sonoma State women's basketball players to score in double-figures, leading all scorers with 17 points as the Seawolves defeated Chico State 70-58 for the first time in the last seven meetings for their first CCAA victory of the season Saturday night at The Wolves' Den.
Burroughs hit six of her eight shots from the field, accounting for Sonoma's season-best 46.9 percent shooting effort, while holding the visiting Wildcats to just 36.4 percent.
Carly Gill chipped in a career-best 14 points in 21 minutes off the bench,
Taylor Todd put in 13 followed by
Hannah Sourek with 11, including eight rebounds.
The Seawolves (5-6, 1-3 CCAA) outrebounded the Wilcats 32-29 in the contest en route to their first conference victory in their last 20 CCAA games.
Chico State (4-5, 0-4 CCAA) was led by the 11 points from Natalie Valenzuela.
Sonoma returns to the floor one final time in 2015, hosting Maryville (Missouri) on Sunday at 5:00 pm in The Wolves' Den.
