ROHNERT PARK -- It was a tough one at The Wolves' Den for Sonoma State as they lost to Chico State 80-43 Friday night. The Seawolves dropped to 8-11 in CCAA play and 11-12 overall. Chico State improves to 15-4 in conference play and 18-6 overall.
The first half was closely contested for the majority of it, but the Wildcats opened up a 25-14 lead with 8:24 left and were able to stretch the lead to 34-20 heading to the half. Chico State jumped on the gas pedal from the open of the second half and went on a 12-0 run that would make a comeback by the Seawolves a hard task.
The Seawolves hit on 19.6% (10-51) of their shots compared with 51.7 (30-58) for the Wildcats. Chico State grabbed nine more rebounds that Sonoma State (35-26). Chico State won points in the paint, 26-16.
JJ Mina led all Seawolf scorers with 12 points. He also had six rebounds. 
Nathan Molony-Benjamin had a career-high 10 rebounds to lead Sonoma State in the category. 
James Slade scored in double-digits for the third time this season with 10 points.
Robert Duncan led Chico State in scoring with 18 points.
Saturday night is Senior Night at the Wolves' Den as the Seawolves take on Cal State Stanislaus in their 2014-15 home finale at 7:30 PM.
