Baseball Explodes for 13 Runs, 19 Hits In Win Over Coyotes

ROHNERT PARK -- In a game that featured 18 runs and 33 hits, Sonoma State came up on the better end of both categories in a 13-5 victory in game one of a four-game weekend series against Cal State San Bernardino. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 3-6 in CCAA play and 8-9 overall. The Coyotes fall to 1-8 in conference play and 3-15 overall.

After the Coyotes put across two runs in the top of the first, the Seawolves came roaring back with three runs of their own in their half of the first and wouldn't relinquish the lead the rest of the game. Alex Crosby knocked in the Seawolves first run of the day with a single up the middle that scored Jourdan Weiks. The go-ahead run in the first would come later on in the inning when Cody Morris hit another single up the middle that scored Crosby and Eric Ehlow. The Seawolves would score seven more runs in the next three innings to make it 10-3 heading to the fifth.  Ehlow would put a cap on the scoring for the Seawolves with a soaring three-run homer (2) over the left field fence to make it 13-4.

Ehlow finished 2 for 4 with the home run and three RBI's and also scored three runs. Adam Manzer had three hits in six plate appearances and scored two runs. Cameron Merriwether went 3 for 5 with two runs and two RBI's. Philip Ramos went 2 for 5 with two RBI's.  Weiks and Crosby both had two hits in three at-bats.  The 19 hits by the Seawolves were a season-high.
