Volleyball Rebounds With 3-0 Sweep At Cal Poly Pomona

POMONA, Calif. -- The Sonoma State women's volleyball team bounced back from a heartbreaking loss on Thursday to hold off a spirited Cal Poly Pomona squad for its first CCAA win of the season in three sets (25-18, 28-26, 27-25) on Saturday night at Kellogg Arena in Pomona.

The Seawolves rise to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the CCAA while the Broncos suffered their first conference loss, falling to 6-5 and 2-1 in conference action.

Caylie Seitz led the way with 15 kills, followed by Emily Papale adding a season-high 10.  Lexi Reddick threw down nine kills and added three blocks and two aces for 12.5 points.  Madelyn Densberger recorded a team-high 12 digs and Kelsey McIntire came off the bench to slam six kills and, defensively, led the way with four blocks.

Sonoma State returns to action on Friday night at Chico State and again on Saturday night at Stanislaus State before returning home on Tuesday, Sept. 29 to host Cal State San Marcos.
