ROHNERT PARK -- The Sonoma State women's volleyball team continued to roll Tuesday, earning its fourth straight sweep with a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-15, 25-17) over CCAA-newcomer Cal State San Marcos on Tuesday evening at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park.
The Seawolves have won six of their last seven matches, five of them by way of a three-set sweep, improving to 8-3 this season and pulling into a four-way tie for first place in the CCAA at 4-1. The Cougars fell to 4-11 overall and 1-6 in conference action.
Caylie Seitz once again led the way with a match-high 12 kills, followed by 10 kills from
Lexi Reddick, who hit .588 for the match without an error.
Rachel Andrews had a big night at the net, rejecting six attacks while slamming seven kills to the floor on offense.
Madelyn Densberger had eight kills, five digs and four blocks and
Kaitlyn Connolly led all defenders with 15 digs.
Calan Seitz handed out a team-best 24 assists, adding seven digs and one ace as fellow setter
Courtney Seda passed out 13 assists.
As a team, the Seawolves hit .376, marking the fifth time this season that SSU has hit above .300 in a match. Sonoma's defense also held Cal State San Marcos to just .132 on offense. The Cougars' Brooke Butler led her team with eight kills, but hit just .034.
Sonoma State returns to action on Friday night at 7:00 pm when they host 20th-ranked Cal State San Bernardino in a rematch of the 2014 NCAA Division II West Region semifinals.
