TURLOCK, Calif. -- Jerrica Crosby enjoyed career-highs of 15 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes off the bench, but the Sonoma State women's basketball team dropped its fourth straight conference game Friday, a 59-50 setback at the hands of host Stanislaus State at Fitzpatrick Arena in Turlock.
The Seawolves fell to 6-11 overall and 1-7 in the CCAA.  The Warriors kept pace with the conference leaders, improving to 11-4 overall and 7-2 against CCAA foes.
After trailing for most of the first quarter, Sonoma turned an early five-point deficit into a five-point lead on a
Tanner Adams three-pointer with 1:10 to play before halftime before a Stanislaus free throw right before the intermission set the score at 26-22 in favor of the Seawolves.  However, the free throw by the Warriors just prior to the break would be the beginning of a 12-0 run by the hosts, putting Stanislaus State up 33-26 at the 6:01 mark of the third period.
The Seawolves chipped away at the end of the third period, eventually pulling even at 35-35 after a layup by
Madison Burroughs, but the Warriors regained the lead and a 16-6 would prove too much for SSU to overcome in the final minutes of the fourth period before settling for the nine-point loss.
Crosby accounted for six of Sonoma State's 14 made shots on Friday evening, two of which came from the three-point arc to total her team-high 15 points.  Adams and
Hannah Sourek were the second-leading scorers for SSU with six points.
Stanislaus State controlled the paint, outscoring Sonoma 28-6 below the basket.  The Warriors got a game-high 18-point effort from Ana Burch.
Sonoma State returns to action Saturday night at Chico State.  Tipoff from Acker Gym in Chico is set for 5:30 pm.
