Seawolves Fly Past Hawks In 67-41 Blowout On Saturday

ROHNERT PARK -- Kylie Kiech scored a game-high 12 points and both Hannah Sourek and Jerrica Crosby added 10 apiece as the Sonoma State women's basketball team cruised to an easy 67-41 victory over Holy Names in non-conference action Saturday night at The Wolves' Den.

The Seawolves jump to 6-8 overall while the Hawks fell to 3-9.

Sonoma led from start to finish, getting off to a fast start by scoring the first eight points of the contest, en route to its blowout win.  The Seawolves led by as much as 31 points on three separate occasions early in the fourth quarter before settling for the 26-point victory.  In fact, SSU only allowed Holy Names to score in single-digits in the first three periods (7, 7 and 6, respectively) but the Hawks managed 21 in the final stanza to total their 41 on the night.

The Seawolves shot 36.7 percent from the floor of 22 of 60 and drained 85.7 percent (18-21) from the free throw line.  The Hawks on the other hand, connected on just 25.0 percent on 15 of 60 attempts, hitting only 7 of 12 (58.3 percent) from the charity stripe.  Madison Burroughs chipped in with seven points while Carly Gill added six points with a team-high seven rebounds.

Sonoma State jumps back into CCAA play on Friday when it hosts Cal State San Bernardino at 5:30 pm in The Wolves' Den.
