ROHNERT PARK -- Kim Savio came off the bench to score a team-high seven points and a career-best 10 rebounds, but the Sonoma State women's basketball team suffered a 76-45 loss at the hands of Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday night in The Wolves' Den.
The Seawolves fell to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the CCAA while the Toros remained perfect in conference action, moving to 7-0 against CCAA teams and 9-6 overall.
Sonoma got off to a quick start, taking a 10-4 lead midway through the first quarter, but CSU Dominguez Hills chipped away and grabbed the lead for good with 7:51 to play in the second quarter. The visitor lead got up to 33 points on a layup by Jenee Golden with under a minute to play in the contest, but a Savio layin seconds later had the Seawolves settle for the 31-point defeat.
The Seawolves were held to 30.4 percent from the floor on 17 of 56 shooting, including just 11.1 percent from three-point range (1-9). The Toros connected on 48.4 percent of their shots (30 of 62).
Imari Brown and Breanne Garcia led four CSUDH players in double-figures with 15 on the night.
Sonoma State hits the road for a brief two-game road trip next weekend, beginning with a Friday night date at Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock.
