SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Courtney Shoda came off the bench and scored twice and
Alex Sifuentes added another as the Sonoma State women's soccer team will cruise into the postseason after a 3-0 victory over visiting Cal State L.A. on Saturday at Santa Rosa Junior College's Sypher Field in Santa Rosa.
The 20th-ranked Seawolves will have a bye in the first round of next week's CCAA Tournament, advancing to next Friday's semifinal at Warrior Stadium in Turlock, set for 4:30 pm. In the semifinal, Sonoma will await the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 3 seed Cal State San Bernardino and No. 6 seed Cal State L.A. that is scheduled for Tuesday in San Bernardino.

Shoda and Sifuentes scored within four minutes of each other late in the first half to take control of the contest, 2-0 heading into the intermission. While Shoda's first goal was unassisted, the Sifuentes sisters teamed up to net the second goal when
Cecilia Sifuentes banged a shot off the post and sister Alex corralled the rebound and fired it home for the two-goal lead. In the 59th minute, Shoda struck again after receiving a pass from
Sarah Lindborg for the 3-0 lead and eventual victory.
In the end, the Seawolves outshot the Golden Eagles, 21-7.
Allison Hadidian made four saves in the victory. It was also Hadidian's 33rd career win as the SSU goalkeeper of record, which is a new record in the history of the Sonoma State women's soccer program; she is now 33-9-3 in 50 career games as the Seawolf netminder.
