Dolcini, Minton Score First Career Goals In Sunday Win

TURLOCK, Calif. -- Dayna Dolcini and Madison Minton scored the first goals of their respective careers to lift the 22nd-ranked Sonoma State women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Stanislaus State on a warm Sunday afternoon at Warrior Stadium in Turlock.  The Seawolves have won six straight matches, improving to 6-1-1 overall and 4-0 in the CCAA, and are now unbeaten in their last 17 regular season conference games (15-0-2) dating back to their final regular season contest in 2014.  The Warriors fell to 6-3 (1-3 CCAA).

The Seawolves got on the board early when Miriam Bloom served a corner kick into the box, banged off of Katie Mohr's head and found Dolcini on the far post where Dolcini headed it into the upper right corner of the net for the 1-0 lead at 16:09.

A couple of minutes into the second half, Minton intercepted a pass deep in Warrior territory and poked the ball up and over Stanislaus goalkeeper Haley Crook and into the net for the 2-0 Seawolf lead at 48:32.

While Sonoma controlled every aspect of the contest, outshooting the hosts 16-3 in the 90-minute affair, the Seawolves surrendered a goal with just under six minutes left in regulation to make it a close game, but Sonoma didn't allow any more Stanislaus chances the rest of the way in securing the 2-1 victory.

Allison Hadidian made one save in the victory, the 29th of her career as the goalkeeper.  Her counterpart, Crook, kept busy the entire afternoon, making nine saves.

Sonoma State will continue its four-game roadtrip next weekend with two games in Southern California.  The Seawolves will take on UC San Diego Friday in La Jolla at 7:00 pm, before a Sunday matchup at Cal State San Marcos.
