#19 Seawolves Downed By #8 Tritons In Clash Of Powers

LA JOLLA, Calif. -- The Sonoma State women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the eighth-ranked team in the country, UC San Diego, on Friday night in La Jolla, snapping its six-match win streak in the process.

The Seawolves, ranked 19th in the country this week, fell to 6-2-1 overall (4-1 CCAA) and was beaten for the first time in conference action since 2014, a streak of 17 matches.  The Tritons improved to 7-2 (3-0 CCAA).

The host Tritons didn't waste any time to get on the scoreboard Friday night as Kiera Bocchino put one into the back of the net in just the 12th minute to take a 1-0 lead over SSU.  The second and final goal of the evening came on a penalty kick by UCSD's Jordyn McNutt at 50:56.

The Seawolves were outshot 13-6 in the contest.  Allison Hadidian made four saves for SSU in the loss.
