HAYWARD, Calif. – Three Seawolves scored in double digits Friday night, but it just wasn't enough to quell the Pioneers as they topped Sonoma 60-54. Cal State East Bay rises to 15-8 overall and 12-4 in the CCAA as Sonoma falls 10-11 overall and 6-9 in the CCAA.

Madison Burroughs tied for the game high of 14 points apiece. Burroughs also lead Sonoma in rebounds with six.
Jessica Mitz scored 11 points, chipped in four assists as well as five steals, the most steals for a Seawolf in any single game this season.
Sonoma State lead in the first half 25-24, thanks in part to Burroughs and Mitz combining for 17 points. The team shot over 47% from the field and out rebounded their opponent by one.
In the second half, the Seawolves scored 29. Three possessions in a row in the second quarter, Mitz was the scorer for her team.
In the second half, Kiech went two for four from behind the arch and three for five in their field. Mitz nabbed three of her steals in this half, in the third one was converted into a fast break layup and the next possession she scored a trey for the Seawolves. Later in the third, Burroughs stole the ball and Kiech used it and scored a trey that tied the score with 2 minutes left to go.
The fourth quarter saw Kiech turn her own rebound into a three-pointer in the fourth to close the Pioneers lead to two, however East Bay came out with the win.
Saturday night, February 11, the Seawolves will face Cal State Monterey Bay in the Kelp Bed at 5:30pm.
