Seawolves Blank WNMU; Finish 4-1 At MSUB Desert Stinger

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Lindsey Calcany-Blair went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBI, Jenny Collazo brought in two runs and Gabby Dupree earned her first-career complete game shutout, allowing five hits and striking out five as the Sonoma State softball team notched a 7-0 victory over Western New Mexico on Sunday afternoon to wrap up a 4-1 weekend at the MSUB Desert Stinger.

Calcany-Blair delivered the first of her two RBI in the top of the second inning on an infield single, scoring Madison Barto for the 1-0 lead before Calcany-Blair bated a throw from the catcher down to second base on a steal attempt allowing Sarah Langley to score from third base for the two-run advantage.

The Seawolves struck for three runs in the fourth inning on RBI from Calcany-Blair, Alison Strycula and Collazo to lead by five.  Leanna Georges brought a run home in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, plating Langley, then in the sixth, Karly Macadangdang scored when Collazo reached base on an error after Macadangdang reached base by smacking her fourth double of the weekend, accounting for the final 7-0 score.

Following the completion of the tournament Sunday, the hosts of the Desert Stinger -- Montana State Billings -- announced that Jordann White was named to the All-Tournament Team.  White went 5 for 15 with two home runs, three walks, five RBI, 2 for 2 in stolen bases and four runs scored.  As a team, the Seawolves hit .321 in the five games, outscoring their opponents 42-35.

Sonoma State will hop right into CCAA play on Friday and Saturday when it heads down to Seaside to face conference-nemesis Cal State Monterey Bay for a four-game series with the Otters, who also went 4-1 at the MSUB Desert Stinger over the weekend in Las Vegas.  First pitch on Friday is set for 12:00 pm.
