Even Start to the 2018-19 Season

Rohnert Park, Calif. –Sonoma State used a 46 percent shooting and two players in double figures to defeat Notre Dame de Namur 65-55, in the final game of the Ron Logsdon Basketball Classic. The Seawolves improve to 2-2 on the year, as they're set to open CCAA play next Friday against the Jacks of Humboldt State at 7:30 p.m. in the Wolves' Den.
 
Isaac Davidson named to the Ron Logsdon All-Tournament team after putting up 26 points, making nine rebounds, a one steal in his 59 minutes of play over the past two games.
 
The Argonauts held its lone lead in the opening 5 minutes. Tied at 13-13 the Seawolves changed the narrative, extending its lead by 11 with under five minutes to go in the half.
 
A free-throw made by Malachi Jones pushed the Seawolves lead to 34-25 at halftime.
 
Through the first 20 minutes of play, the Seawolves shot 44% (11-for-25) from the floor, including eight three-pointers 50% (8-for-16), and 66.7% (4-for-6) at the free throw line.
 
The Seawolves came out scoring to start the final 20 minutes of play. Deshawnte Collins downed a layup in the paint to put the Seawolves up by ten midway through the second half.
 
With four minutes left on the clock, the Seawolves extended its lead 54-46 with a jumper in the paint by Davidson.
 
Up by ten at the one-minute mark, Sonoma made three of the final four baskets on the day beating the Argonauts by 10 (65-55).
 
Sonoma State held a 36-29 advantage in rebounding over Notre Dame de Namur thanks to seven boards from Lewayne Grant.
 
Seawolves, now 2-2 on the young season remain at home as they tipoff CCAA play Friday, November 23rd at 7:30 p.m. against the Jacks of Humboldt State.
